Dr. Jorge Correale graduated with honors from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires. He completed his residency in Neurology at Htal Ramos Mejía in the city of Buenos Aires. He continued his training as a fellow in Neuroimmunology at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where he was later appointed Assistant Professor of Neurology, Microbiology, and Molecular Immunology Since 1997, he has been the Head of Neuroimmunology at the Fleni Neurological Research Institute. Between 1998 and 2010, he was an Associate Professor of Neurology at the Austral University of Buenos Aires.
He is the former vice president and president of the Argentine Society of Neurology and the former president of LACTRIMS. Currently, Dr. Correale is vice president of the Medical and Scientific Council of the International Multiple Sclerosis Federation, a member of the International Committee for Clinical Trials in Multiple Sclerosis, a Researcher at the IQUIFIB Institute, dependent on CONICET/UBA, and Honorary Professor of the UBA for the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry. Dr. Correale is the author of 267 articles published in Neurology and Immunology journals, 50 chapters in Neurology, Multiple Sclerosis, and Neuroimmunology books, and has published as editor or co-editor of seven books related to Neurology, Multiple Sclerosis, and Neuroimmunology.
